Homework

Homework Expectations:

Homework is given to help reinforce what we are learning in school.  It is also an opportunity for you, as parents, to see what we are learning in school and in what areas  your child has strengths and weaknesses. Homework will be  sent home on Monday (or the first day of the week, if Monday is a holiday) for the week.  Students will have until Thursday evening to complete the homework.  Homework is due Friday of each week.  A typical week of homework will consist of reading a book from our intensive Phonics program (LLI) and completing a brief comprehension page on it.  Math homework will be a one page handout with six questions to be answered each evening Monday-Thursday.  Reading homework should take no more than 20 minutes a night and math homework should take no more than 10 minutes a night for most students.  Homework will begin the 28th of August.  A more detailed explanation will accompany the first week of homework when it is sent home.
